Parachinar: Paradise on the Earth

Parachinar: Paradise on the Earth

INTRODUCTION:
The old name of Parachinar is “Totkai”. Parachinar is one of the most beautiful place in the Federal Administrated Tribal Areas (FATA) and capital of district Kurram surrounded by Afghan areas on three sides. It is located in the north-east of Pakistan. Afghanistan province Nangarhar is in the north-east of Parachinar. The popularity of Parachinar increases due to the Tora Bora and Koh e Sufaid of Afghanistan.

BORDER:
Koh e Sufaid tall mountains are the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan which get covered with snow whole year. Afghanistan province Khost is in the south whereas Paktia is on the west of Kurram Valley. The eastern Park of district Kurram meets Tull in Pakistan’s Hangu district.
OPERATIONS:
The part of district Kurram called central Kurram was first known as F.R Kurram. A few years ago, its name has been changed. The central Kurram meet district Kurram with the other district like Orakzai and Waziristan. Many operations have been carried out in central Kurram. In various operations where militants suffered heavy losses, forces too suffered badly. The tribes of Jaji (Zazai), Maqbal, Mangal, and Kharoti and Khiljis are settled on both sides of the border in both Afghanistan and Pakistan.

EDUCATION:
District Kurram (Parachinar) is ahead of all districts in FATA in the field of education. Due to the government’s lack of attention, the whole districts and cities, including Parachinar, are deprived of various facilities. Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto approved a medical college at Parachinar, which General Ziaul Haq later moved to Abbottabad. A cadet college has been established in the subdivision of district South Waziristan but even though district Kurram has a significant position in the educational field, Cadet College has still not been established.

ROADS:
Most of the roads of Parachinar are in bad shape. The people of Parachinar also need some attention. We appeal to the government of Pakistan, we appeal to the government of Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa. Being the capital of district Kurram, the roads should be repaired.

HOSPITALITY AND FOOD:
The people of district Kurram are very friendly and hospitable. They become happy with inviting friends to their home and give him a visit to different places in Parachinar. The Kurrami rice is extremely delicious and cooked mostly once a day in all houses. Various dry fruits of Parachinar are very famous. Similarly, Parachinar is known for its peanuts in Pakistan.

VILLAGES OF PARACHINAR:
The hills have clean springs and spring water is provided for drinking to houses in Zeran and other areas through pipelines. Among these springs, the “Foladi Chashma” is worth mentioning. Parachinar is surrounded by dozens of popular tourist points. Some of the natural wonders among this point include the Mast Baba located in Zeran, Shalozan’s garden called as Laila Bagh, Malana Dam, Maikay located in Malana, and a Chapri Bangla located 9.941 feet above sea level. I have visited several times to the Chapri Rest House which is about on 6 hours continuous hike.
